Each term we hold a cookery workshop at the school where children, mums, dads, and grandparents work together to create something delicious. At the end of the workshop the chefs invite other members of their family to join them and see what they have been making and to sample the wonderful results!
Each cookery workshop has a theme. This years Summer cookery workshop took place on Saturday 13th June.
Twenty five pupils from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 joined Hazel, Mrs Stein, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Crowfoot and Mrs McGoldrick to cook up some really Fruity dishes. Mrs Towner was a whizz on the I pad recording all the afternoons events.
Mrs McGoldrick’s group provided some pretty sharp rhubarb cobblers. Our own award winning school chef Hazel, was leading proceedings in the kitchen with a delicious Chicken Tagine. Mrs Stein’s group were keeping their cool chopping up a Couscous and a Watermelon salad. While, Mrs Crowfoot ‘s group made the most delicious blueberry cupcakes following Mrs Towner’s own recipe. Sweet desserts were put together by Mrs Taylor’s group with Fruit Fools and shortbread biscuits.
The weather was glorious on the day so our shared celebration teatime took place as a picnic on the field.
We are all looking forward to the next one which will be in the Autumn, with a Harvest Festival theme of Vegetables.
Do come and join us.
